MINNEAPOLIS—DeeDee Gorman, senior community relations specialist for ECMC Group, has been appointed to the advisory board for the Page Education Foundation. The Foundation supports Minnesota students of color as they work to succeed academically and personally.

"Our advisory board provides critical oversight to programs that impact thousands of students across the state and their academic goals," said Amanda Moua, executive director of the Page Education Foundation. "With her background in community relations and service work with ECMC Group, DeeDee will provide a unique perspective on both education and philanthropy that will benefit our work."

ECMC Group is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit corporation with a mission to help students succeed through financial tools and services, nonprofit career education and funding for innovative programs.

The Page Education Foundation was launched in 1988 by former Minnesota Viking and Associate Justice Alan Page and his wife Diane Page to create hope and opportunity for students of color through financial grants and requiring recipients to serve as tutors, mentors and role models for the next generation.

The organization's mission aligns with ECMC Group's work to improve educational outcomes for underserved student populations.

"Helping improve students' lives through giving and volunteerism is something extremely close to my heart," said Gorman. "I'm honored to bring my passion for giving back to the Page Education Foundation, and I look forward to providing expertise that will help guide programs focused on the next generation of learners and leaders."

As part of the advisory board, Gorman will share her knowledge, diverse perspective, philanthropic support and connections to local and national resources to further the Page Education Foundation's mission. She will serve a three-year term.
