February 20, 2020

MINNEAPOLIS—Sarah Strehl, chief human resources officer for ECMC Group, has been appointed to the board of directors for the mpls downtown council (mdc). Strehl will serve a one-year term, effective immediately. The mdc is a collection of influential minds focused on making Minneapolis a better place to live, work and play.

"Having spent her career working to improve employee relations and environments in a variety of organizations, Sarah brings a unique perspective that will help guide our efforts," said Steve Cramer, president and CEO, mpls downtown council. "As a leader who helped her own organization transition to the downtown area, Sarah's insights will be valuable as we work with local employers, community leaders and residents to enhance the environment and atmosphere in the city center."

In her role, Strehl will help guide the organization's efforts to produce events, advocate for legislation and build connections with the community. She was elected to the board at the mdc's annual meeting on February 12.

"From a young age, my passion has been understanding the human aspects of how work gets done and the human capital side of business," said Strehl. "I'm honored to bring my knowledge as an employer in the downtown area to the mpls downtown council, and I look forward to providing expertise that will help guide this organization's work with employers and the greater community."
